![]() I've been using Synalize It! Pro for a while now, and I enjoy it - it helps a lot.R. I don’t use it all that often, but it has saved days taking apart a file format so I can handle it programmatically.J. Hi, I've been using Synalyze It! Pro since it first appeared on the Mac App Store. Do it.It’s been very very helpful for me over the years so I just wanted to say thanks!M. You don't have to think twice about getting this hex editor. I would also like to be able to select a smaller font for the analysis panel. I would prefer a non-antialiased monospaced font - but there's no antialiasing option. If I have file A which can contain structs of B or C I don't seem to be able to create a Grammar which can choose struct type automatically. The Grammar files aren't very scriptable at the moment. The downsides? Well, it isn't perfect - but it looks as if the developer is very active on this: I'm looking forward to the promised C struct export capability. This is a serious steal, and a must have for any geek arsenal. It's a doddle to use and a major timesaver. Sure, I needed to put a little extra legwork in with the first file that I analysed in order to teach SynalyseIt how to analyse subsequent files (by creating 'grammar') - but the little extra legwork is seriously minor. If you want a Hex editor which will do your work for you, and analyse any file that you throw at it then there is only one - and this is it. If you need a decent Hex editor then there are other solutions. I've been frustrated by the absence of a decent highlighting Hex editor for so long that I was about to knuckle down and write one myself. You have to keep in mind the meaning of all the bits and bytes while crawling through the file.Īnd every time you look at a file you start anew this tedious process. Are you serious about hex editing and binary file analysis?ĭo you know how frustrating and annoying it can be to use a regular hex editor?
